“Every fishing water has its secrets. A river or a lake is not a dead thing. It has beauty and wisdom and content. And to yield up these mysteries, it must be fished with more than hooks.”

-- Zane Grey

Lone Star Fly Fishers (LSFF) is a premier East Texas membership organization, established in January 2003, for local freshwater and saltwater fly fishermen, women and children of all skill levels. This club is dedicated to the monthly offering of quality educational programs for the continued development of fly fishing and fly tying knowledge and skills. LSFF also coordinates fly fishing activities for the enjoyment of all members and for the opportunity of developing camaraderie between fellow fly anglers.

The promotion of clean waters, angling ethics and the preservation of our natural resources is another focus of LSFF.

LSFF offers high quality educational programs at each monthly meeting on the third Tuesday of each month. Professional fly fishing guides, tiers and speakers from the area and from across the country are invited to share their knowledge and expertise. Fly casting, rod building and fly tying clinics are also given throughout the year. Take a look at the calendar of events to see the education program schedule. An extensive library of books and videos is available to all members. LSFF conducts periodic fly fishing clinics for kids and for the Boy Scouts of America in order for them to earn their fly fishing merit badges.

Meetings: Each regular meeting will be held at Spring Creek BBQ located at 5810 S. Broadway in Tyler from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. There will be a quality educational program at each general meeting. These activities are designed for the enjoyment of all members and for the opportunity of developing camaraderie between fellow fly anglers.

LSFF endeavors to improve fly fishing by joining and initiating efforts to preserve and restore fisheries, fishery habitats and the natural biodiversity that supports fisheries. This club also promotes, through education and practice, ethical behavior toward fellow anglers and in the use of all aquatic resources.
